Material Overview — EVA
Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam is produced by copolymerising ethylene with vinyl acetate to create a cross-linked closed-cell foam. The copolymer structure gives EVA foam exceptional softness, flexibility, and cushioning properties. With a density of 100 kg/m³, the OPUS EVA range delivers significantly higher acoustic performance than standard EPE-based underlayments.
The 3 mm products in the EVA range are recommended for demanding acoustic applications in residential apartment buildings and mixed-use developments where impact sound transmission through floating floors must be minimised. All EVA products are compatible with laminate, engineered hardwood, bamboo, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP/LVT) flooring systems.
